Travelling Friends & Holiday Record

Written by fellow RVers June and Allan Foote.

Travelling Friends is a ‘Must Have’ for travelling retirees and holiday-makers.

This self-published book is made up of different sections to help you stay organised.

Travelling Friends and Holiday Record is an idea that developed as June and Allan were travelling home from a caravan trip.  They had several bits of paper with contact details of friends they had made during their trip and decided they should write all these into a special book.

The Travelling Friends section keeps together all the contact details of friends you meet during your travels. On these pages your friends can write a comment or two and you can also add their photo or business card.

As June and Allan progressed with this idea they decided to add sections to record their various expenses – Fuel, Accommodation, Daily Expenses and Trips, together with some Handy Hints, Cartoons and Quotations.

Travelling Friends becomes a lifetime memento of places visited and will recall treasured memories of the friends you meet and your travels on the open road.

A truly worthwhile investment for Happy Wanderers.

160 pages, A5 size, Spiral bound.

Caravanning with Confidence DVD

"Caravanning with Confidence" produced by award-winning touring & training company Global Gypsies, condenses everything you'd normally learn on their two-day hands-on training weekend - along with lots of other valuable information - into an informative and entertaining, professionally produced audio-visual production.

Some people think you can just buy a van, hook it onto your vehicle and away you go. But if you're reading this page, you know it's not that simple. There is a lot of skill involved in towing a van and reversing and parking can be an absolute nightmare for novices. Jeremy & Jan of Global Gypsies have seen caravan holidays ruined by accidents caused by unskilled drivers and spoiled by domestic disputes over caravan techniques. They believe this new DVD could help reduce accidents, give caravanners more skill and confidence, and may even save a few marriages along the way!

Subjects covered include the type of van and vehicle to choose, towing equipment, towing capacity, reversing, parking, safety and towing tips, off-road caravanning, communications, dealing with emergencies and planning and budgeting for a caravan trip. There are also several excellent checklists available for a nominal fee.

Optional hard copies of the valuable checklists contained in the production are available for an additional $10.

Living with Murphy
An anecdotal book by Lionel Mussell and his life with "Murphy".

Everyone has heard of "Murphy" - the bloke who drafted that well known law: "Anything that can go wrong - will go wrong!"
One person who reckons he's had more than his fair share of Murphy-induced mishaps is freelance writer, Lionel Mussell, who has penned this amusing account of his life with Murphy as a means of getting his own back on the nefarious Irishman.
Some of Lionels more recent escapades with Murphy are well known to readers of his monthly On the Wallaby column in Caravan World magazine, but now brings Murphy and his pranks to the attention of a broader audience in this wide-ranging autobiographical account brilliantly illustrated by artist Mark Maloney

 The Disputed Country
Australia's Lost Border

This new book chronicles the survey of the South Australian - Victorian border from 1847 to 1850.  It was an epic three year saga of dogged persistence through heavy rain and flooded swamps, harrowing escapes from the waterless Mallee Country and the almost immediate destruction of the border markers by a devastating firestorm.
It was soon proven that the surveyed border was several kilometres from the intended 141 east longitude, thus sparking a 64 year battle between the two states for possession of the "Disputed Country" that thin piece of land between the two lines.
Includes the story of the border fence, a field guide to key heritage sites as well as detailed maps, diagrams and trip notes for the Border Track.
